Deli-Weli in Lyme Regis is a fantastic little cafe serving up a whole lot of great food. A picture of a big pig on the signage above the words ‘Hog Roast & Bacon Baps’ just says it all to me
I was really just in the market for a Bacon and Egg cob, but once I walked inside and saw the lady carving slices of juicy looking pork off a big joint, well then I changed my mindset and was ordering a Pork Cob!
HOG ROAST BAP

The Hog Roast Bap or Roast Pork cob was surprisingly good. It was filled with plenty of juicy chunks of hog roasted pork, some tasty stuffing, a big scoop of apple sauce, a spoonful of thick gravy and some of the best crackling I have crunched upon for some time
More often than not the crackling defeats my teeth and is too hard but the stuff here at Deli Weli was sublime, just crisp and crunchy enough like a good pork scratching only one with lots of soft unctuous fat left on it
It was a big old sandwich and at £7.50 it was a good value both size wise, meat wise, and quality wise. As I ate it, I never had a thought for the Bacon and Egg Cob that I could have had!

The place also does breakfast rolls, sandwiches, pies, pasties, toasties and cake. So all the basic food groups and desires catered for then.
They are situated close to the lifeboat station by the harbour and seem to be well frequented by locals and visitors which is always a good thing, many local workers turning up to collect their regular lunch while we were eating.
Deli Weli are located at Cobb Rd, Lyme Regis DT7 3JT. Check them out on their Facebook page and on their Instagram Feed
Their website describe themselves as a convenience store but they were much more than that to us. They were the place selling the best Hog Roast bap I have had for ages
