C&T Wok located at Morrisville Square Way in Morrisville just off Airport Boulevard is one of the first places I found using the ‘scroll around google maps and click on random restaurants’ technique of MyFoodHunting.
I asked Mike @RunnersThoughts if he fancied a Chinese? “I Know a place” I said, and I was well chuffed that I had found somewhere that he hadn’t tried out before!
Lunch Specials
The place has an interesting menu mixing simple and basic Chinese and Thai favourites with a seriously authentic looking Szechuan menu. However we came here to sample their very reasonably priced Lunch Special menu which is soup, one dish and rice for just $6.50.
General Tso’s Chicken
I know that they many more authentic dishes on their menu but to be honest I was here for just one thing and that was a plate of General Tso’s chicken.
This is a dish that they don’t seem to serve anywhere in the UK and I have only had it here in the states. There is something so comforting and delectable about General Tso’s chicken. It is basically a pile of fried chicken in a slightly spicy thick sticky sweet sauce, it shouldn’t work but it does.
Originally I was not even sure that this was a real Chinese dish I was thinking that it was just some sort of Chinese American invention, perhaps at best a hybrid of a dish. I suppose that it kind of is, supposedly it is a Hunanese dish, but I didn’t think that they ate this sort of food there, but a couple of restaurants in New York claim to have invented it in the 1970’s
Who cares anyway I like it. It really is very sweet, too sweet, but there is something about it that makes me want more of it and I cannot resist it’s charms. It is a dish that is very easy to eat.
Chicken with Broccoli
Mike had the Chicken with broccoli which was also pretty good, but I was glad that I didn’t order it as it had way to many vegetables in it to be able to temper my fire for comfort chinese. I just need meat and sticky sauce on a day like this. It does look good though and another good lunchtime option.
I also have my eyes on the comforting orange chicken and the sesame chicken, I suspect that none of my self respecting friends in China will be too impressed.

Apart from the simple basic lunchtime options I mentioned that they have a really good Szechuan menu at C&T Wok.
I have my eyes on the 回锅肉 SPICY SZECHUAN DOUBLE COOK PORK BELLY OR THREADS PORK amongst others
Maybe Next Time? That could be a very different blog post!
