Last time I was at the Full Moon Oyster Bar the Burger sandwiches had looked so good that I made a mental note and perhaps a blog comment that I would be back to try one.
I liked the nautical sound of their “8 Oz Perfect Storm Burger” which they describe as:
“This juicy burger is served on a brioche bun topped with sautéed garlic mushrooms, bacon, pepperjack cheese and our own special lighthouse sauce! A perfect combination!”
Toppings wise they have pretty much got this burger spot on, the patty was indeed juicy, it was also really well cooked. I really liked that there was plenty of bacon on it, and I liked even more that the bacon was super crispy, nicely smoked and cut thickly enough to have a really good bite.
The brioche bun was nicely toasted (perhaps charred lightly would be more accurate), and I liked the simplicity of the single slice of beefsteak tomato and the crisp fresh lettuce leaf was just about restrained enough for me to enjoy the salad component of this sandwich.
The co-star of the sandwich, alongside that juicy burger, was the aweseome pile of sautéed garlic mushrooms. They really transformed this burger into something a little bit special. In fact if I had been caught in perfect storm, this sandwich would be a happy bedfellow as I sat weathering that storm out!
